Jim Camann, born in Tonowanda, New York, USA, lives and paints in Fort Mill, S.C. with summers at his lakeside camp, Old Forge, N.Y. Graduated from Buffalo State College for Teachers. A graphic and exhibit designer for 30 years with a major international corporation. Retired and now paints, teaches workshops and judges regional art shows.
My paintings are of a land that has almost passed away - are about solitude - of the inner peace that comes from being alone. They are a mystery and I try to have the viewer enter this other world, one that is seldom seen by but a few. Many are painted in these summer stays at my Adirondack Mountains Camp and are about this emotional connection with my life and those who shared it.
