Kathryn McAlarney - About the time I was deciding to reenter the workforce, an abandoned orchard next to our house was being developed into roads and residential lots. This series of drawings poses the question, "How does the human spirit deal with the regimentation of productivity?" The first drawing is very flat with no human interaction. The next three drawings introduce a human figure that is dominated by the structure of machinery. At last, in the final drawing, the gesture of the human figure suggests that the spirit will not be crushed.
The size of each painting is 32x40 inches, price $250 including the frame and white mat board with black liner. The price of the set of five is $1000.
